It’s a slow news day.
Daniel Craig may be contracted to two more Bond films, but as ever, that never stops the fun when it comes to speculating about who might replace him.
Latest in line with some unattributed ‘sources’ is the ‘newspaper’ The Daily Star.
According to this ‘insider’:
“Although Craig is signed up for the next two Bond films the search for his replacement is already on…Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He’s been approached to gauge his interest and he’s keen.
“He’s a respected actor with a great back catalogue of films but most importantly he’s the type of guy that all men want to be like and all women want to be with. He’s perfect Bond material.”
Of course we’re sceptical. It’s the Daily Star.
However, for those who are interested, the current odds are as follows.
Michael Fassbender is the favourite at 9/2, with Idris Elba at 6/1, Tom Hardy 7/1 and Henry Cavill is 14/1.
Daniel Craig beat out Cavill at the very end of the auditioning process when producers decided to go for an older Bond. However, by the time Bond 26 is ready to shoot around 2019, the 30 year-old Cavill would be the perfect age.
We know who our money is on.
