Riddick defends a puppy from a monster.
A new clip has been released from the Pitch Black sequel, Riddick. It has everything you would want and expect, with a return to the tenor of original - vicious creatures, violence, machetes, and a puppy.
Check it out below.
The official synopsis for Riddick reads thus:
"The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy."
Diesel has also been talking about Guardians of the Galaxy, a deal for which has been agreed but not yet signed. He will voice and provide the motion capture performance for the sentient tree warrior Groot.
However, he revealed that his first meeting with Marvel was for a different project:
"What we were initially talking about was a fresh IP [Intellectual Property]…and that was the focus of our conversation. A fresh IP that would come out in 2016 or 2017 to potentially launch a third phase. When we went to Comic-Con, we realised that we wanted something more immediate."
So what might this project have been? Is it still planned? We’re hoping for a gravelly voiced reboot of Howard The Duck? That would really be something.
Riddick is released on 4th September while Guardians of the Galaxy arrives on 1st August next year.
