The Truman Show to be adapted for TV

10 April 2014

Good afternoon, good evening, and good night.

Peter Weir’s 1998 drama The Truman Show, which shrewdly satirised television, is now set to become a television show.

The acclaimed movie starred Jim Carrey in a rare dramatic role as a man unaware that his entire life a reality TV series about him.

Now Paramount are moving a Truman Show TV series into development. There are no concrete details beyond that, but it’s unlikely that Weir or Carrey will return for the small screen version.

Paramount’s newly launched television division are exploring a number of potential projects, including a revival of a Terminator series and a biography of aviator Charles Lindbergh.
