The Coen Brothers' offbeat crime noir stars Billy Bob Thornton as a barber in 1940s California who discovers his wife (Frances McDormand) is having an affair with her boss (James Gandolfini). Things don't turn out as expected when he attempts to take advantage of the situation. Tony Shalhoub co-stars while Scarlett Johansson makes an early impression as a young femme fatale. Glorious black-and-white photography sets the ominous mood.
