Charlie Chaplin's satire on the Axis leaders was said to have so incensed Adolf Hitler that he thrust the little man to the top of his 'death list' after his proposed conquest of America.

Hitler can't have exactly been pleased by the funny performances of Chaplin's co-stars, Jack Oakie as Napaloni (Mussolini), Henry Daniell as Garbitsch (Goebbels) and Billy Gilbert as Herring (Goering).

Funniest scene is the one in which Chaplin and Oakie each tries to keep his head higher than the other in revolving barber's chairs.
