Tarantino Takes Over Sky Movies

17 August 2009 by Rob Daniel

Tarantino SeasonTarantino tells it how it is when he takes over Sky Movies IndieHe's cinema's bad boy who single-handedly redefined what movie chic was with Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.  He's the man who turned John Travolta back into a movie star, made men in black suits way cool way before The Matrix or, erm, Men In Black, and has given modern cinema some of its most iconic moments, characters, and quotes.

There Will Be Blood 04There Will Be Blood He is one Mr Quentin Tarantino and to celebrate the release of his barnstorming new war movie Inglourious Basterds, from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August he is taking over Sky Movies Indie and Sky Anytime/HD to showcase his six favourite films showing on the channel.

And it's not just a quick one-liner either - Quentin is giving a 10-minute movie masterclass introduction for each movie, and if that doesn't make your mouth water you're no fan of film.

Being a Tarantino selection, you know it ain't always going to be pretty, it will contain shocks and surprises, and you'll look at the films in a new light.

Death Proof CarDeath ProofWe know why he chose Taxi Driver, There Will Be Blood, and his own Death Proof - they're great movies all.  But, we can't wait to hear the superstar director's take on the Gus Van Sant Psycho remake.

Check out the full line up below and if you're thinking of watching anything else that weekend, in the words of Christopher Walken in True Romance, we implore you not to take that route.
