Work has already begun on the three-quel for Taken....even though screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen has admitted "we've taken everyone we can take."
Although the latest Istanbul-set Taken 2 wasn't a huge critical hit, it managed to pull in nearly $50m in its opening weekend, doubling the original film's first weekend receipts.
"We didn't start talking about [it] until we saw the numbers," Kamen told Hollywood.com. "But then we said, 'Oh, okay. I think we should do a third one.' And Fox wants us to do a third one."
Whether Liam Neeson will be aboard is not certain but Kamen insists they've worked out another route to take the story down
"We've taken everyone we can take," he says. "It's going to go in another direction."
Taken 2 follows Neeson's ex-spook Bryan Mills and his violent efforts to free his kidnapped wife (Famke Janssen) after she is captured by the same Albanian mobsters from the original Taken.
