Superbowl spots for Transformers, Captain America and more

Also, some men kicked a ball around a field for some reason.

Yesterday saw the 48th annual NFL Super Bowl which is apparently some sort of sporting competition or something, but that’s not important - it’s what happens in between the sports that’s of interest to us.

Costing around $4m for around 30 seconds of airtime, advertising space is at a premium, so movie studios reserve some of their biggest hitters for the night.

This year was no exception. Among the highest-profile spots was the very first footage from Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth entry in Michael Bay’s CGI-splurging alien-robot-fest.

We also saw new footage from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and a lovely new spot from Muppets Most Wanted.

See below for all the new trailers, and congratulations to whichever team won last night - we weren’t really paying attention to the sporting element, to be honest.
