We’ll be taking them all with a pinch of salt.
Many Star Wars fans expected Comic-Con to be the place where Disney would make a series of announcements regarding the JJ Abrams directed sequel. Whispers abounded concerning casting and plot decisions that might be revealed, but in the end, fans were left disappointed, and some a little cross.
With absolutely no new information to report, many have resorted to the rumour mill, which is where we find ourselves this morning.
The usually well-connected Latino Review has reported that two British actors have read for two unspecified roles in the Star Wars sequel; Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan, Solomon Kane) and Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike, The Butler). However, neither has yet been offered the part…whatever part that may be.
It’s an easy way for an agent to get free publicity for their client so we will reserve judgement until any official announcements are made. Sometime in the next month. Or two. Maybe.
