Sam Mendes releases Skyfall Bond video blog; new Hunger Games TV spot...

Following the popularity of Peter Jackson's Hobbit video blogs, it seems Sam Mendes has decided to follow suit. 

Brit director Mendes, who is directing Skyfall, the 23rd Bond film, out on 26 October, has released his first short video blog from the set.

Principal photography is currently underway on the film, which sees Daniel Craig returning in the role of the iconic spy.

In the clip above, Mendes reveals: "The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was, I suppose, about nine or ten years old. So, you know, I've always been a fan of the movies." 

Mendes also pointed out that this is the first time he has directed a film in the UK. "In a way I feel like the American films were my apprenticeship" he adds.

NEW HUNGER GAMES TV SPOT

It's almost time for the games to begin...
