Theatrical records are tumbling in the wake of James Bond's return.
Skyfall has received unanimously positive reviews in the build up to release, and has found just as much love from audiences, racing to over £20m in its opening weekend.
It's the biggest ever opening for a Bond movie, and the biggest opening for any 2D movie in the UK, with only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2, which arrived in 3D, ahead of it.
The movie was released in 24 territories, taking the opening total to an enormous £77.7m, despite not opening in the US until November 9.
Bond's last outing, Quantum of Solace, held the UK opening weekend record for 007 with £14.4m, while Skyfall is expected to easily surpass the worldwide take of $586m that Casino Royale managed in 2006.
