"You'd better be ready to jump!" (again)
Shooting has begun on the set of comedy sequel 22 Jump Street.
Young-looking cops Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) follow up 21 Jump Street with more adventures in college, although further plot details are being kept firmly under wraps.
Ice Cube is set to return as Captain Dickson, with Amber Stevens (The Amazing Spider-Man) joining the cast in an unspecified role.
The sequel was inevitable after 21 Jump Street, itself based on the 80s TV show, took over $200m worldwide.
The movie is being directed by directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the pair behind the first movie, and animated hit Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.
“Buddies who work together is a topic that is close to home for us," the pair said in a press statement. "We’re looking forward to working with Channing and Jonah, Neal and our friends at Sony again to take these guys’ relationship to the next level.”
Tatum and Hill added, "As we all know, sequels are ALWAYS better than the original. Every single time. This will be no exception. How are we still saying the exact same words at the same time? This is crazy! [simultaneously] Jump Street!”
