Former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating is set to make his movie debut.
The film will be shot in Australia, where he is currently working as an X Factor judge.
"I am coming down April 7 because I am shooting my first movie in Australia," he said on the Kyle and Jackie O TV show.
"It's an Australian movie," he added. "I'm very excited. I can't tell you the title but I'm going to be on set April 10 in Sydney."
The project is a romantic comedy called Goddess, according to Australian newspaper the Herald Sun.
It tells the story of a housewife who achieves fame and fortune with the help of a webcam - but her success comes at a price.
Keating has made no secret of his acting ambitions, revealing last January that he had auditioned for a part in The Hobbit. The crooner later admitted to German website freundin.de that he did not expect to land the role.
"But I would like to take on roles which nobody would expect," he added. "I don't want to be reduced to love stories. I'd like to try dark, edgy roles. I need a challenge."
Oh dear - his romantic comedy debut isn't exactly a dream come true then.
British actress Laura Michelle Kelly - star of West End musical Mary Poppins - will act opposite Keating, so some singing can be expected.
"We are pretty thrilled to have him on board,” said producer Richard Keddie. “And we are excited, too, about our lead actress, Laura Michelle Kelly."
Goddess will be directed by Mark Lamprell, whose last film was 2000 drama My Mother Frank, starring Sinead Cusack.
