As Christian Grey’s sister.
Pop star Rita Ora has been cast in the forthcoming Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation, it has been announced.
Ora will play Mia, the sister of billionaire S&M afficianado Christian Grey, who will be played by Jamie Dornan in the big-screen adaptation of EL James’ pulp erotic thriller.
The singer of such musical masterpieces as ‘Hot Right Now’ and ‘How We Do (Party)’ has been foraging a modest acting career since popping up in this year’s Fast & Furious 6.
She revealed to fans that she had won the role in a tweet. Reactions on the social network have been a mix of disgruntlement and incredulity.
“YIKES i thought they were taking this movie seriously” said one tweeter. “who knew it was possible to MAKE IT EVEN WORSE” said another. One sarcastic tweet read: “Dear Citizen Kane, prepare to be knocked off your perch.”
The production has been beset by problems, with multiple delays and original lead actor Charlie Hunnam dropping out after negative fan reactions.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey is due to be released in the UK on February 13th 2015.
