I’d buy that for a dollar!
A new viral for the forthcoming RoboCop remake shows a slickly-suited Omnicorp executive in a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) keynote speech.
Neatly timed with the 2014 incarnation of the gadget show (in which Michael Bay had a meltdown), the viral shows a slimy exec for the fictional robotics company introducing the RC2000 project - “where man and machine become one”.
The two-and-a-half minute teaser ends with a title encouraging anyone who wishes to participate in the RC2000 project go to omnicorp.com - a neatly designed fake website with Apple-like minimalism showing off some of the robotic projects in progress.
As Empire noted, this is a similar move to the fake TED talk given by Guy Pearce in the run up to release of Prometheus in 2012.
The RoboCop remake, a fascimile of the beloved 1987 original, is being directed by José Padilha and stars Joel Kinnaman, Douglas Urbanski, Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, and Samuel L. Jackson.
RoboCop is out in the UK on 7th February, 2014.
