The Captain America sequel is gaining momentum. Hot on the heels of the title news (it's to be called Captain America: The Winter Soldier) comes the casting details.
Anthony Mackie, whose busy schedule of late has included roles in The Adjustment Bureau, Man On A Ledge, Real Steel and the forthcoming Gangster Squad and Abraham Lincoln: Vamire Hunter, has been approached to play Falcon, aka Sam Wilson, one of the comic world's first ever black superheroes.
The character, who wears a supersuit that allows him to fly and mentally communicate with birds (!), first appeared in 1969, and is set to partner Cpt. Steve Rodgers as he battles The Winter Soldier.
In the comics, the Winter Soldier is actually Bucky Barnes (who plummeted to his apparent snowy doom in the last Cap Am movie), who is brainwashed by the Russians and sent to battle Cap.
Although there's a good chance it won't be the Commies messing with Bucky's mind, it's highly likely that's where the plot is headed.
The movie is set for an April 2014 release.
