The last thing John Hillcoat directed was the apocalyptic fun vacuum The Road, so he's not the first man you'd associate with Lawless, a rootin', tootin' 1930s gangster flick starring hot-to-trot duo Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf.
But then he was responsible for the acclaimed Aussie western The Proposition, which had the same throat-burning flavour as this Prohibition era tale based on real-life bootleggers, the Bondurant brothers. As you might expect, since both films were written by gnarly musician Nick Cave.
As Lawless busts into cinemas, we give you a taste of what to expect with these kinda newfangled infographics. Because you wouldn't want to head down to the backwoods of Virginia without knowing something about guns, good ol' boys, gangsters and moonshine now, would ya?
Did you know for example that there were 32,000 speakeasies in New York City?
No? Well, dagnabbit, now you do.
