Kate Winslet calling in a Triple Nine

6 February 2014

Replacing Cate Blanchett.

Oscar winner Kate Winslet has signed up to play a ruthless criminal in a new crime thriller from John Hillcoat, director of Lawless and The Road.

The new movie, Triple Nine, also has Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B. Jordan, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot, Teresa Palmer and Michael Pena among its cast.

Winslet is reportedly replacing Cate Blanchett, who apparently dropped out as did Christoph Waltz.

The film, which takes its name from the police radio code used when an officer needs immediate assistance, details a group of corrupt cops who organise a heist.

After a long time in development, the ball seems to be rolling for Triple Nine, with production potentially starting later this year.
