The tortuous wait is over.
After losing their first choice for Christian Grey after only a month, producers of kinky bonkathon Fifty Shades of Grey have moved quickly to tie down their new lead, with Pacific Rim's Charlie Hunnam having so swiftly unshackled himself from the project.
The search for Hunnam’s replacement has reached a swift climax with Northern Ireland’s Jamie Dornan announced in the role as the sadomasochistic billionaire Christian Grey- the man who will give the naïve but eager graduate Anastasia Steele a series of demanding new positions.
Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson reportedly screen tested last Friday, more than satisfying producers, releasing all their tension that had built up over the last couple of turbulent weeks.
Jamie Dornan is probably best known in the UK for his terrific turn in BBC drama, The Fall…as well as being a former beau of Keira Knightley. He also stars in ABC’s acclaimed fantasy drama, Once Upon A Time.
Directed by Nowhere Boy’s Sam Taylor-Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey will be released on 1st August. Just in time for the school holidays.
