And yet, Robert Leo Farrelly Jr, 54 and the younger brother of the two, told skymovies.com, in an interview for the brothers' latest film The Three Stooges (out today) that he "isn't a very good joke-teller". He did also say he was funnier than his older brother though - go figure!
Join us for our first installment in The Sky Movies 10 Questions series, where we chat to famous people about life, the universe and everything. Well, it's more like life, crushes and well, anything at all really, but we hope you enjoy it.
1. What's your favourite Three Stooges moment?
There are 250 shorts in total so there are a lot to choose from! But I always liked it when Moe had his nerves frazzles by the other two...
2. Do you prefer to watch comedy or tragedy?
Comedy, definitely. When I go the movie theatre I like to forget the world a bit and laughing allows you to do that. I like drama too, but I'm not really a horror fan.
3. What's your favourite joke.
Er, I'm not really a joke teller, oddly!
4. What's your least favourite joke?
I don't really like jokes where you have to look around to tell whether you've offended anyone in particular nearby, racist jokes for instance. But so many jokes seem to be like that. Our films, they kind of just offend everyone. That way you're safe!
5. Who's funnier, you or your brother?
Oh, I would say I'm funnier by a long shot. Ha, ha. I'm kind of goofier, where as his sense of humour is more cerebral, I guess.
6. Who was your first Hollywood crush?
I'm really going to show my age here, but Raquel Welch. The way she looked was very appealing to me as a young lad. Although, actually Pete and I have been lucky to work with lots of beautiful women and I guess I've had a crush on all of them!
7. What's the best freebie you've been given?
When someone flies you private yet, that's a luxury some people have that is totally amazing. Pete and I haven't made enough money for that ourselves - yet.
8. Bond or Bourne?
Well, I'm friends with Matt Damon but I'd have to say Bond. You can't beat Sean Connery.
9. What's your brother's worst quality?
I guess that he never says no to anything. If anyone ever asks Pete to do anything he'll do it. But that's kind of his best quality too!
10. What's your worst quality?
I have a lot! But I'd probably have to say I'm inherently lazy. I give about 60 per cent to any one thing. Then again, like I said, Pete gives 100 per cent to everything, so between us we give 80 per cent! Which is surely good enough.
