Hill and DiCaprio re-team for Atlanta bombing story

Hill's still serious.

The Wolf Of Wall Street stars Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio have signed on to star in The Ballad Of Richard Jewell, which tells the true story of a man falsely accused of executing the 1996 Atlanta Games bombing, which left two people dead and over a hundred injured.

Hill is in line to play the title role of Richard Jewell, a security guard working at the time of the infamous bombing, who spotted a suspicious backpack and cleared the area.

Although he was initially regarded as a hero for his actions, in the days following the bombing Jewell was regarded as a suspect by police, and vilified by the press and rolling news channels.

DiCaprio is to play Jewell's lawyer, a friend who comes to Jewell's aid despite having little experience of anything beyond estate sales. Both Hill and DiCaprio are up for acting awards at this year's Oscars.

The script was inspired by a 1997 article in Vanity Fair by Marie Brenner, whose work was previously used as inspiration for the Russell Crowe thriller, The Insider.
