Lemuel Gulliver (Black) lives a life of unfulfilled ambition. When fate affords him a get-out of his dead-end job and a way into the heart of his long-time crush, the paper's Travel Editor Darcy (Peet), he seizes the opportunity and finds himself sailing out into the Bermuda Triangle.

Fate (and a health dose of magic) intervenes and he winds up stranded on an island in which he's a giant amongst men. When the simple township warm to their new protector, the arrogant and pompous general and town protector Edward (O'Dowd) turns against his people, forcing Gulliver to step up and become the hero he was destined to be.

The simple fact is that Jack Black's back doing what he does best - making fart and pee jokes, rocking out in over-the-top shoehorned fashion, and poking fun at his own tubbiness.
