The little hand says it’s time for another remake.
Having already caught a few waves in 2012’s Chasing Mavericks, Gerard Butler is set to once again mount a surfboard in a forthcoming remake of 1991’s Point Break.
Butler is set to play Bodhi, the Zen-loving surfer and thief originally played with Californian charm by the late Patrick Swayze. Kathryn Bigelow’s much-loved cult action classic which brought together the previously opposing philosophies of surfing and bank robberies.
There’s no word yet on who will play FBI agent Johnny Utah, originally played by Keanu Reeves.
The remake will be directed by Ericson Core, who started his career as a cinematographer for several action films, including the original Fast & Furious film.
Kurt Wimmer, who also wrote the 2012 Total Recall remake, is writing the new script.
