Gary Oldman may be lining up to appear in the new Star Wars film.
The actor was in town to promote the RoboCop remake. Sky Movies interviewed him as part of his press tour - and we couldn't resist asking whether he had been approached to star in Star Wars: Episode VII.
He confirmed that "they've called".
Naturally, he was unable to give much more details than that, but emphasised that no deal was done. "I believe it when I'm on the plane home," he said.
The acclaimed British actor had been previously linked to play General Greivous in Revenge of the Sith.
As far as we can tell, this is the first time Oldman has been linked to JJ Abrams' new entry in the megafranchise.
Aside from R2-D2, Disney - which owns Lucasfilm - have not confirmed any actors to star in the film, which is due to be released in December 2015.
