She’s a Marshmallow.
The first trailer for the Veronica Mars movie adaptation has debuted online.
The film, an adaptation of the cult TV show starring Kristen Bell, is one of the highest profile projects to be funded by Kickstarter, the crowdfunding website which takes pledged donations from fans and supporters.
The TV show detailed the title character’s progression as a high school student moonlighting as a private detective. It ran for three seasons in the US before being cancelled.
Following a vocal fan campaign, the Kickstarter project was launched in February of last year, with a $2m goal - a target that was categorically smashed, ultimately reaching nearly $6m.
Over 90,000 people backed the project financially, with pledges ranging from $1 to $10,000.
Rewards for donations ranged from a Blu-Ray or digital download of the finished film, to personalised voicemail messages from the stars, to red carpet premiere tickets.
One lucky backer was given a speaking role in the film.
Veronica Mars will be released on March 14th, 2014 in the US.
