Following on from those on-set pics of Robocop's new suit comes the first banner poster for the forthcoming remake.
The poster, which appeared on Cine1, displays the movie title over a chunk of Robocop's new suit with the tagline "We've got the future under control", and was no doubt intended as a tease for what the new Robo would look like.
But while that surprise has been somewhat spoilt by those set images, it does serve as a reminder that it's not entirely fair to judge out-of-context images.
It's feasible that the suit will look much different once it's been through post-production, or, indeed, might not even be the finished article.
Still, it's not just the images that have garnered fanboy vitriol - a version of the script leaked onto the interweb last month, leading to much concern (lines like "that suit belongs in the eighties!" did it no favours).
Director Jose Padilha is also said to have been at odds with the studio during the pre-production process.
While Robocop was a huge action hit, it wasn't the sci-fi element that made it a classic but director Paul Verhoeven's satirical look at corporate America and the violence therein. So far it seems unlikely Padilha, for all his efforts, will be able to repeat the trick.
