First OscarsĀ® trailer with Ellen DeGeneres

22 January 2014

She’d like to thank the Academy.

It’s a mere seventy-three days until the Oscars, and TV channel ABC has released the first trailer, featuring host Ellen DeGeneres.

The 60-second spot, directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), sees Ellen don a tux and her trademark sneakers and boogie down a street with hundreds of other tuxedo-wearing backing dancers.

This will be the second time the comedian has presented the awards show, having first taken the reins in 2007.

Degeneres, whose film roles include voicing forgetful fish Dory in Pixar animation Finding Nemo, is seen as a friend to the stars, known for her cosy sofa chats on her hugely popular daytime talk show Ellen.

Just this week, she coaxed out an admission from actor Colin Farrell that he had a relationship with legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor.

The Academy Awards will take place in a glitzy ceremony at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on 2nd March - and the only place to watch it in the UK will be right here on Sky Movies. Don't touch that dial!
