Billy Elliot is the Thing.
Director Josh Trank’s long-mooted Fantastic Four reboot is finally taking shape - and the main cast has been chosen.
Miles Teller - currently appearing in That Awkward Moment - will play Mr Fantastic/Reed Richards.
Michael B. Jordan, who appeared in Trank’s Chronicle, will play The Human Torch/Johnny Storm.
Kate Mara - from Netflix drama House of Cards, and sister of Rooney - will play the Invisible Girl/Sue Storm.
And Jamie Bell - aka Billy Elliot - will play The Thing/Ben Grimm, in a perhaps slightly surprising choice, given that the last actor to play the enormous rock-like humanoid (Michael Chiklis) had a markedly chunkier physique than Bell.
The original Fantastic Four movie was released in 2005 to lukewarm reviews but decent box-office returns, and a sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, followed in 2007. But it was quickly eclipsed by other comic book adaptations.
The ensemble is a staple of Marvel comics - but the film will not be produced by Disney-owned Marvel Studios. As with the earlier Fantastic Four films, this movie will be produced by 20th Century Fox, who bought the rights to the characters before the creation of Marvel Studios.
So unlike the comics, don’t expect any Avengers crossovers.
The new Fantastic Four film will be released in June 2015.
