The final episode of the Hollywood-set comedy/drama landed a year ago...and there's been little word on when the planned movie would appear.
But writer/ creator Doug Ellin has revealed he's writing the script - and it's nearly finished.
"There are interesting developments about Ari as a studio head, and that's still the first page for me," Ellin explained.
"But foremost is the friendship between the guys who are still hanging out and going to fun parties, and it continues with the same characters."
With Mark Wahlberg continuing to produce after coming up with the series in the first place (which was roughly based on his early experiences of Hollywood), Ellin says he's getting pressured to move faster.
"(Mark Wahlberg) threatens to kill me if I don't write faster," said Ellin. "Every time I see him, Mark says, 'I've made five movies this year. Get going!'"
HBO are yet to sign the cast back up, insisting that they've only heard a pitch and not seen a script, but that seems a formality given the good feeling around the cast and crew.
"I'm excited. I feel a lot of positive energy," Ellin said. "Everywhere I go, people ask me, 'Where's the movie?'"
