McKellen and more tweetalong.
Empire Magazine teamed up with director Bryan Singer and the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past yesterday for a mammoth social media event that debuted 25 limited edition X-Men covers.
In celebration of the film magazine’s 25th anniversary, the cast and crew - including Singer, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and X-Men creator Stan Lee - tweeted a new image every hour.
The 25 covers included a first glimpse of the new Sentinels, the anti-mutant robots making their most prominent cinematic debut.
They also gave us our first look at new cast members, including Evan Jonigkeit as Toad, Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask, and Evan Peters as Quicksilver.
When all 25 covers were finally revealed, Empire put together a gallery to show each image connected as one continuous “cover scroll” - see below.
As publicity pushes go, it’s pretty impressive stuff - and has certainly whetted our appetites for when X-Men: Days of Future Past is released in the UK on 22nd May, 2014.
