Can you smell what the Rock is banking?
Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, is officially 2013’s biggest star in terms of box-office revenue, according to Forbes magazine.
The financial bible named Johnson the highest-grossing actor of the year after his films banked an impressive $1.3 billion.
Though he did not star in the highest-grossing film of the year - that accolade goes to Iron Man 3 - the hard-working wrestler-turned-actor has appeared in a string of hits, including Fast & Furious 6, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain, and Snitch.
Johnson had at least one movie in the US box-office top ten for over six consecutive months from February.
The actor celebrated his achievement with a post on his official Facebook page (adorned with a manically excitable selfie), telling his 21 million followers:
“Fired up. Just named FORBES TOP GROSSING ACTOR OF 2013 ($1.3 billion)
This accolade doesn't happen without my relentlessly hard working team, strong partnerships with studios and more importantly…
Hope you know how truly grateful I am to able to entertain you.
Johnson is not planning a break, with more movies - including the seventh Fast & Furious film and a new Hercules movie - set for release next year.
