On the Rhodes again.
As if the Avengers, weren't crowded enough already, another character has been added to the superhero supergroup lineup: Don Cheadle's James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, aka War Machine, will appear in Joss Whedon's new sequel.
Marvel have confirmed the character will appear in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, playing "a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel”.
War Machine will join the original lineup of Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Nick Fury, plus new additions Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. (They’re going to need name badges at this rate.)
Rhodey - a military lieutenant, close friend and confidant of Tony Stark, and a regular occupant of Stark’s Iron Man suits - first appeared on screen in the 2008 original with Terrence Howard in the role.
Cheadle took over for Iron Man 2 and played a significantly beefed up role in that film and last year’s Iron Man 3.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is due to start shooting here in the UK next year, with a summer 2015 release date planned.
