Nic's the ex-con daddy
Check out the international trailer for the upcoming Nicolas Cage drama Joe.
In an intriguing match, Cage hooks up with director David Gordon Green (Prince Avalanche, All The Real Girls) for a southern drama about a 15-year-old boy forced to work to support his redneck Texan family.
Cage plays Joe, a heavy-drinking, ex-convict who takes the boy under his wing and gives him a job at the local lumber company.
When he realises the boy is being abused, Joe steps in and the two of them attempt to forge a better life.
It's a more thoughtful departure for Cage and worth a look (if you can ignore the French subtitles)
Joe, written by Gary Hawkins and based on the novel by Larry Brown, is due in cinemas in April.
