TOP MOVIE NEWS: WEDNESDAY 16 MAY.
Anchorman 2 Poster and, soon, the teaser!.
Hang on a minute...
It feels like just yesterday that we found out that an Anchorman 2 was on its way... And now there's a poster already? And a trailer?!
Well, yes. You wouldn't have expected Ron Burgundy to do things in the ordinary order of things now, would you?
Below, as you can see, is the first poster for the follow-up to the comedy classic, due for release some time in 2013.
And, what's more, director/writer Adam McKay has said that a teaser trailer will air before The Dictator screenings, which are released in the US later on today.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, McKay said that the teaser idea was made long before production of the film itself, to inspire him while he's finalizing the script.
"Paramount came to us with the idea of the teaser, and since we're writing the script, it was a good chance to see the characters and hang out with the actors to inspire writing," he said. "All of the actors slipped right into character and they all looked amazing. Paul [Rudd] has a beard and we're thinking of keeping it. Kind of an Eddie Rabbit-meets-Serpico look."
McKay jokes that shooting the minute-long footage "was like the Manhattan Project - except without the possibility of destroying all of mankind."
