Profile of Jean Dujardin

1972- Dujardin, was born on June 19th (now aged 39). He was raised in Rueil- Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, France.

1995- He began creating, writing and acting in his one-man comedy show in several bars and cabarets in Paris. 


1995- He got noticed and met Bruno Salomone, Eric Collado, Emmanuel Joucla and Eric Massot with whom he created and was a member of the humorist band "Nous C nous". The comedy group ended up winning the French talent show Graines de Star in 1996. 


1999- He appeared in the French television series "Un gars, une fille" until it came to an end in 2003. From then onwards he began to appear in many films.


2007- He starred in the French box office hit OSS 117: Caro Nest of Spies where he was nominated and won Best Actor at the Étoile d'Or Awards in 2007. 


2007-2010- Can you believe Dujardin has only starred in four French films before hitting the international big time with the critically acclaimed film of the year, The Artist. 


2011- Dujardin hit global recognition with his breakthrough performance in The Artist. He ended up winning the award for Best Actor at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. 


2012- To everyone’s amazement, The Artist picked up seven awards at the 2012 Orange British Film Awards including Best Leading Actor played by Jean Dujardin. 


2012- If things couldn’t go any better for Dujardin, he has been nominated at the 84th Academy Awards for Best Actor, up against heavy weights George Clooney, Gary Oldman and Brad Pitt.
